This was the first time Diaby ever mixed at an event. He opened our January night with it: one hour seventeen of afro house held from start to finish, nothing cut. The room went with him from the first track, and around the half hour mark he drops the biggest moment of the night, the one where you can hear the floor answer. Not many people start like this.
The set was recorded live in front of the crowd, in one take, facing the full-height mirror, with the sound taken straight off the mixing board and three cameras running. That is what Mirror Groove Session is: a monthly electronic music night in Nouméa, New Caledonia, where every set is filmed in multicam and released in full, house, afro house, latin house, tech house, disco and French touch, from an island in the South Pacific.
