The Artist
One of the names defining the new wave of French electronic music.
Herr Krank has quickly become one of the artists to watch in the new generation of French electronic music. Known for his mastery of acid textures, tracks like Acid Jazz, Average Party Tool and Acid Piano Track have turned into genuine club staples across Europe.
For three days in March, he stepped out of the booth and into the South Pacific. This is what he saw.

Day 01
Nouméa & Île aux Canards
A first contact with the capital, and a swim above its reef.
Île aux Canards is a small islet sitting just off the coast of Nouméa, close enough to reach in a ten-minute boat ride and far enough to feel like a different country. Herr Krank spent his first afternoon walking its short coral trail, snorkeling above the reef and meeting the people who would host him for the rest of the week.
The pace is deliberate: arrival, lunch by the water, an underwater briefing of what a healthy reef looks like, and a first taste of why people fly twenty hours to come here.

Day 02
The world's largest lagoon
Into the heart of the world's largest lagoon, a suspended day.
New Caledonia holds the largest enclosed lagoon on earth: 24,000 km² of UNESCO-listed water, the second-longest barrier reef on the planet curling around it. We took Herr Krank out into the middle of it.
A morning of surf on the outer break, an afternoon of snorkeling at a site he picked half-randomly off the chart, turtles and reef sharks crossing under the boat. A suspended day. He brought a Sony Walkman for the engine sound back.

Day 03
Nouméa · the calm before the set
Rest, soundcheck, and a hotel all to himself.
A day deliberately built around nothing. Herr Krank was hosted in one of Nouméa's most beautiful hotels: pool, hammock, no notifications. The afternoon was reserved for preparing the set: track selection, sequencing, soundcheck on the Mirror rig.
We believe a good artist visit isn't a parade. It's a stay. The third day is where the trip turns into something the artist actually remembers.

Day 03 · After dark
Night
Mirror is a club concept unique to New Caledonia. The DJ plays facing a full-height mirror, back turned to the crowd. The dancefloor watches the artist work in reflection, closer than any front-facing booth allows.
Herr Krank opened with disco and closed with acid, backed by BNH on live percussion throughout the set. The crowd was on fire.
It was an absolute joy to be greeted at the airport by Maxime and Maël, who had already planned a full itinerary for my four days in Nouméa. I was thrilled that they introduced me to their friends and family, as well as to the turtles, snakes, sharks, and all the other local wildlife, during some unforgettable snorkeling sessions. I really loved the atmosphere they created at Single Fin, where I was invited to play; the evening was a huge success. Thank you so much! I won't forget these wonderful moments anytime soon.
