Discover Nouméa & Île aux Canards
A first contact with the capital, and a swim above its reef.
Île aux Canards is a small islet sitting just off the coast of Nouméa, close enough to reach in a ten-minute boat ride and far enough to feel like a different country. Herr Krank spent his first afternoon walking its short coral trail, snorkeling above the reef and meeting the people who would host him for the rest of the week.
The pace is deliberate: arrival, lunch by the water, an underwater briefing of what a healthy reef looks like — and a first taste of why people fly twenty hours to come here.
